Focalyx® Fusion: Adaptive MRI and Ultrasound Guidance

The prostate can change shape during a procedure. That's why the map used to guide the specialist must be able to adapt as well.

An MRI provides detailed images before a biopsy or treatment. However, during the procedure, pressure from the ultrasound probe can temporarily change the shape of the prostate and the apparent position of a lesion.

According to the official Focalyx® website, Focalyx® Fusion uses a deformable fusion model that accounts for changes in the shape of the prostate and the regions of interest throughout the procedure.

This technology combines:🔹 Pre-procedure MRI data.
🔹 Real-time ultrasound imaging.
🔹 Contours and treatment planning adapted to each patient's anatomy.

Focalyx® Fusion overlays the pre-procedure MRI with the real-time ultrasound used during the procedure, providing the specialist with image guidance for lesion localization.

Technology is a valuable support tool, but clinical judgment, physician expertise, and each patient's unique characteristics remain essential to diagnosis and treatment decisions.
